Dynamic IP or fixed IP?

Maxis sells each business fibre speed with either a dynamic IP or one fixed IP. Most shops and offices only need a dynamic IP.

Dynamic IPYour address can change, which makes no difference for browsing, email, cloud apps, card terminals or video calls.
One fixed IPAn address that stays the same. Choose it if you host a server, view CCTV remotely or need a VPN that recognises your office.

Which speed suits your business?

Maxis gives two guides: connected devices on its plan cards, and staff numbers in its FAQ. We help you pick when we call.

100Mbps1 to 5 connected devices. Home offices and shops running card terminals and light internet use.
300Mbps5 to 10 connected devices. Small offices with moderate data needs.
500Mbps10 to 15 connected devices. Offices of 5 to 10 people who need steady, high bandwidth.
1Gbps15 to 20 connected devices. Small and medium businesses of 10 to 25 people using data-heavy apps.

For fixed IP plans, Maxis suggests 100 Mbps for offices of up to 20 staff, 300 Mbps for up to 40, 500 Mbps for up to 60 and 1 Gbps for up to 100.

Current Maxis Business Fibre offers

Monthly rebatesRM40 off on 300 Mbps, RM30 off on 500 Mbps and RM10 off on 1 Gbps, every month for 24 months. This applies to both dynamic and fixed IP plans.
Who qualifiesBusinesses that are not yet Maxis Business customers and register by 31 October 2026. Your premises must be fibre-ready within one month after that date.
After 24 monthsThe plan continues at its normal monthly price.
Keep the rebateTerminating, upgrading, downgrading or changing business ownership during the 24 months ends the rebate.

No fibre at your premises? Maxis Business AirFibre

Maxis Business AirFibre runs on Maxis’s 5G network with no fibre line, so it suits premises fibre has not reached yet.

AirFibre 79 gives unlimited data on Maxis 5G Pro. AirFibre 149 adds a free WiFi 6 5G router and a SIM-based voice line with unlimited domestic calls, and currently has a RM50 monthly rebate for 24 months for new sign-ups. A fixed or dynamic public IP can be added for RM200 a month. See our Maxis coverage guide, or ask us to check your address.

Installation: what to expect

After you registerMaxis sends an SMS, then calls within 48 hours to set a date. It aims to install and activate within 15 working days of approval.
RemindersA call 4 days before, an SMS the day before, and a call from the installer about an hour before arriving.
Get readyHave five power outlets free, and have the owner or your IT person on site so the network is set up the way you need it.
CablingStandard installation is free. Non-standard work, such as concealed or ceiling wiring, or cabling from the building’s telecom room, is paid separately to the contractor.

Fees and fine print

Contract24 months. After that the service continues month to month at the prevailing price.
Ending earlyMaxis charges the monthly fee for every month left in the contract, with 30 days’ written notice.
Changing speedYou can upgrade at any time, which starts a new 24-month contract. Downgrading is not allowed during the contract.
ReschedulingTell Maxis at least 3 days before the installation date, or a RM200 fee may apply.
Moving premisesIf Maxis covers the new address, you sign a new contract there and avoid the early termination charge. If it does not, the remaining months are charged.

Who can sign up

Maxis’s online ordering is for small and medium businesses, including Sdn Bhd companies, sole proprietors and partnerships, placed by the owner or a director.

Berhad companies, government bodies and businesses registered in East Malaysia go through Maxis’s sales team, and we can help arrange that too.

Company registration forms: Form 9 and 49, or Form 12 and 49.
A letter of award or letter of request, with a copy of the person in charge’s MyKad.
No outstanding bills with Maxis, and premises within Maxis fibre coverage.

Maxis business questions

Is Maxis Business Fibre available at my shop lot?

Coverage depends on the building and street. Send us the address and we will check Maxis and the other providers for you, free.

Can I add a fixed IP later?

The fibre plans come either with a dynamic IP or with one fixed IP, so it is easiest to choose at the start. If your needs change, tell us and we will check with Maxis what is possible on your account.

What happens if the fibre line goes down?

The Maxis router has a built-in 4G backup, so you switch to Maxis’s mobile network until the line is fixed. Fixed IP services such as VPNs may not work on the backup.

How many phone lines do I get?

Every plan includes one unlimited IP voice line with a DECT phone. Extra lines are available through Maxis Business Voice Connect, priced per line.

Do I have to return the equipment when I leave?

Maxis’s FAQ says you do not need to return the equipment, but you must settle any outstanding bills. Its terms mention returning equipment, so we confirm this with Maxis if you plan to end the service.

Do I pay more registering through JOM Apply?

No. You pay Maxis’s published monthly price and your bill comes from Maxis. We handle the registration and keep in touch until installation is done.
