Which Maxis fibre speed suits your home?

Maxis gives its own guide to how many devices each speed handles. Count the phones, laptops, TVs and consoles online at the same time in the evening, not every gadget you own.

100Mbps2 to 3 devices. Fine for browsing, online shopping and streaming on one screen.
300Mbps4 to 5 devices. A small family streaming 4K on the TV while others are on their phones.
500Mbps6 to 8 devices. Online gaming, video calls and working or studying from home.

Unlimited data on a 24-month contract.
A WiFi 6 certified router on 100, 300 and 500 Mbps, and a premium WiFi 7 certified router on 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps.
Upload speeds of 50 Mbps on 100 and 300 Mbps, 100 Mbps on 500 Mbps, 500 Mbps on 1 Gbps and 1 Gbps on 2 Gbps.
A home phone port. Calls are pay per use, or you can add unlimited calls with a free DECT phone for new customers.
Room to grow: every router supports EasyMesh, so you can add Maxis mesh units later.

Maxis fibre installation: what to expect

Maxis says it calls you within 5 days of registration to agree an installation date and time. We stay in touch until the installer has been.

Standard installationCovers up to 100 metres of cable in total, from the nearest fibre point to the box inside your home, run over the wall with clips or casing.
Extra cableAnything beyond 100 metres costs RM35 for every 5 metres. Concealed, ceiling or underground cabling is charged separately.
ReschedulingTell Maxis at least 3 days before the appointment. Late changes, or not being home on the day, can cost RM200.
On the dayBe home, or have an adult there, to agree the cable route and where the router goes.

Fees and fine print

Contract24 months from the day your fibre is installed. The service carries on after that until you end it.
Ending earlyMaxis charges the monthly fee for every month left in the contract.
DepositNon-Malaysians pay a RM300 deposit.
Moving houseGive one month’s notice. Relocation is subject to coverage and a RM300 fee, and your contract carries on. Once your contract has ended, Maxis gives you the option to have the fee waived, which we confirm at registration.
Ending the serviceReturn the router, modem and power adaptors to a Maxis Centre within 14 days.

What you need to register

Malaysians and non-Malaysians can apply, for homes within Maxis fibre coverage.
Your MyKad or MyPR, or a valid passport if you are not Malaysian.
No outstanding bills with Maxis.
The full installation address, including the unit number for a condo or apartment.
The plans are for home use, not commercial or bulk use. Businesses can look at Maxis Business Fibre.

Is Maxis fibre available at my address?

Maxis fibre coverage depends on your street or building. Use our free check and we will tell you within the same working day, together with what Unifi, TIME and CelcomDigi offer at the same address. You can also read our Maxis coverage guide.

Do I pay more registering through JOM Apply?

No. You pay Maxis’s published monthly price, and your bill comes from Maxis. Touch ‘n Go credits on the Maxis website are for sign-ups on the Maxis Online Store only.

What happens when the RM10 discount ends?

On 100, 300 and 500 Mbps the discount runs for the first 24 months, which is the whole contract. After that, the plan continues at its normal price unless you change plans.

Do I get WiFi 7 on every plan?

No. Maxis gives its premium WiFi 7 router on 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps. The 100, 300 and 500 Mbps plans come with a WiFi 6 certified router, which is plenty for those speeds.

Does the plan include a home phone?

There is a phone port on the router. Plug in your own phone and pay per call, or add unlimited calls for a small monthly fee. New customers who add unlimited calls get a free DECT phone.

Is Maxis 5G Home WiFi the same as Maxis fibre?

No. Maxis 5G Home WiFi is a plug-in router on Maxis’s mobile network, with no installation. Fibre comes through a cable and is steadier. See Maxis 5G Home WiFi plans.

Can I keep my current provider until Maxis is installed?

Yes, and we suggest you do. Only end your old plan once Maxis is installed and working, and check your old contract’s end date so you avoid an early termination charge.
